Lucanus cervus akbesianus is a species of stag beetle originating from Syria and Turkey. Although similar to Lucanus elaphus, this species can grow up to 100mm in length, which makes them a very popular beetle amongst hobbyists.
Primarily feeds on rotten hardwood or flake soil.
Beetle larvae go through 3 different larval phases: L1, L2, and L3. After the L3 stage, the larva pupates to turn into an adult beetle!
