Xylotrupes florensis is a rhinoceros beetle species that originate from Flores Island, Indonesia. They are known for their reddish-brown body and their ability to hiss when threatened. Comparable to the Japanese rhinoceros beetle in terms of difficulty, they are one of the easiest rhinoceros beetle species to raise.
Primarily feeds on rotten hardwood or flake soil.
Beetle larvae go through 3 different larval phases: L1, L2, and L3. After the L3 stage, the larva pupates to turn into an adult beetle!
