Golofa aegeon is a species origination from Peru, South America. Belonging to the Golofa genus, it ranks as the second largest species, surpassed only by Golofa portelli. Adult males exhibit elongated horns that protrude upward, along with long frontal legs that aid in combat against other males. Moreover, both males and females emit a hissing sound when threatened. This species is not as popular as Golofa portelli but their short life cycles and size make them an ideal choice for beginners.
Primarily feeds on rotten hardwood or flake soil.
Beetle larvae go through 3 different larval phases: L1, L2, and L3. After the L3 stage, the larva pupates to turn into an adult beetle!
